Wild Duck Chase: The Adventures of
Duckie and Cutie

Here are Brian and Dylan. Brian is 7, and Dylan is 5. They live in the country, not far from a lake.

One day, Brian and Dylan went with their mom and dad to the farm supply store. It was Easter time, and the store had lots of chicks, bunnies and baby ducks for sale. Brian and Dylan thought the baby ducks were so cute.

“Mom, PLEEEEAAAASE, can we have one?!“ both boys asked together. “Well, they are cute,” said Mom. “How much are they?” she asked the store clerk.

“A buck for a duck,” he replied. “These are migratory ducks, mallards to be exact. Keep them warm and feed them for a couple of weeks, then let them out into the wild. Being migratory, they might even come back, and then you’d have swimming buddies down at the lake!”
